How we use tracking technologies at AdvanceWaveHub to improve your learning experience

We believe in transparency. This document explains exactly what tracking technologies we use on advancewavehub.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. Last updated January 2025.

What Are Tracking Technologies?

When you visit our site, small data files get stored on your device. Think of them as digital notes that help us remember your preferences and understand how people interact with our educational content.

These aren't just limited to traditional browser storage methods. We're talking about local storage, session identifiers, and similar technologies that work together to create a smooth experience as you navigate through valuation techniques and financial analysis resources.

Clicking this removes all analytics and marketing tracking. Essential functionality remains active so you can still access courses and account features.

How We Apply These Technologies

When you browse course materials on financial modeling or discounted cash flow analysis, we track which sections you revisit. Not to monitor you specifically, but to understand patterns. If everyone struggles with a particular valuation concept, we know to add more explanations or examples there.

For our September 2025 intake of the Advanced Valuation program, we used this data to restructure three modules that students found confusing in 2024. That's the practical benefit of analytics done right.

  • Session tracking shows us if you're jumping between lessons or following the intended sequence
  • Progress indicators help our system recommend what to study next based on your current knowledge level
  • Assessment performance gets analyzed (anonymously) to improve question quality and difficulty balance
  • Time-on-page metrics reveal which explanations need to be clearer or more concise

Third-Party Services

We don't operate in isolation. Our platform connects with analytics providers and learning management infrastructure that each have their own tracking. When you log in through our authentication system or watch embedded video content, additional tracking occurs.

We've vetted these partners, but they operate under their own privacy frameworks. If you're particularly concerned about data collection, check the privacy policies of Google Analytics and Vimeo, which we use for visitor insights and educational video hosting respectively.

Managing Your Browser Settings

Beyond our opt-out tool above, you can control tracking at the browser level. Each major browser has built-in privacy controls that let you block or delete stored data.

Browser-Specific Instructions

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data
  • Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Delete cookies and site data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data

Keep in mind that clearing everything will log you out and reset your preferences. If you're aiming for privacy without inconvenience, use the opt-out button above instead.

Data Retention Practices

Essential session data expires when you close your browser. Preference settings stick around for 12 months unless you clear them manually. Analytics information gets anonymized after 90 days and aggregated into broader patterns that can't identify individual users.

Marketing tracking typically persists for 6 months to measure campaign effectiveness across enrollment cycles. Since our main intake periods run in February and September, this timeframe lets us assess which outreach efforts actually bring students to our financial analysis programs.

Updates to This Policy

Technology changes. Regulations evolve. We update this document when either happens. The last revision occurred in January 2025 to reflect new Australian privacy requirements and adjustments to our learning platform infrastructure.

We don't send notifications for minor clarifications, but significant changes get announced through email to enrolled students and a notice on our homepage for visitors.
