We're Not Your Typical Education Provider
Back in 2018, a couple of financial analysts got tired of courses that promised everything but delivered textbook theory and not much else. So we built something different—a learning space where valuation techniques actually make sense for real-world application.
What started as informal workshops in a small Geelong office has grown into a comprehensive education platform serving financial professionals across Australia. But we've kept the same focus: practical skills you can use right away.

How This Actually Started
Our founder spent years working in corporate finance, watching talented analysts struggle with valuation frameworks that seemed designed to confuse rather than clarify. The breaking point came during a merger analysis when a junior analyst asked why no one had taught them the practical aspects during their formal education.
That question led to late-night discussions, prototype courses tested with willing colleagues, and eventually a decision to step away from the corporate world to focus entirely on education. We launched with twelve students in autumn 2018. Those first participants gave us honest feedback—some of it brutally so—which shaped everything that followed.
Today we work with analysts at various career stages, but the philosophy hasn't changed: if you can't apply it to actual financial decisions, we don't teach it.
What We Actually Stand For
These aren't corporate values dreamed up in a marketing meeting. They're the principles that guide how we build courses and interact with students.
Clarity Over Complexity
Financial concepts can be challenging without adding unnecessary jargon. We break down valuation techniques into understandable components—because confusing your students isn't a teaching strategy.
Real-World Application
Every module connects directly to scenarios you'll encounter in actual finance roles. We use case studies from Australian companies and markets you can verify yourself.
Honest Assessment
We don't inflate grades or hand out certificates for attendance. Our evaluations reflect genuine competency, which is what employers and colleagues will expect from you.
Continuous Adaptation
Financial markets evolve, and so do our courses. We update content based on current practices, regulatory changes, and feedback from working professionals.
Accessible Expertise
Questions shouldn't wait until the next scheduled session. Our instructors respond to inquiries typically within 24 hours because we remember what it's like to be stuck on a problem at midnight before a presentation.
Skill Development Focus
We care about building your analytical capabilities, not just your resume lines. The goal is competence that shows in your work, not credentials that look impressive on paper.
Our Teaching Framework
Foundation Assessment
Before you start, we evaluate your current knowledge level honestly. This isn't about gatekeeping—it's about making sure you're in a program that matches your experience. We've had CFAs take our intermediate courses and recent graduates excel in advanced modules. Starting point matters less than fit.
Concept Introduction
New valuation techniques get introduced through real scenarios first, theory second. You'll see the problem, attempt solutions with your current knowledge, then learn the frameworks that make the process more effective. This approach feels slower initially but leads to deeper retention.
Practical Application
Every concept gets tested against actual financial data. You'll work through case studies based on real Australian companies, using the same data sources and tools you'd have in a professional setting. Some students find this challenging—which is the point.
Peer Review Sessions
You'll evaluate other students' analyses using the same criteria professional analysts face. This develops critical assessment skills and exposes you to different analytical approaches. It's often where the most valuable learning happens.
Integration Projects
Final assessments combine multiple valuation techniques on complex scenarios. You'll need to choose appropriate methods, justify your approach, and defend your conclusions. These projects take significant time—plan accordingly.
Meet Our Lead Instructor
Our teaching team includes professionals with combined experience spanning decades in financial analysis, corporate finance, and investment banking. Here's one of the people who'll guide your learning journey.

Freya Kellerman
Lead Valuation Instructor
Freya spent eleven years in investment banking before joining our team in 2020. She specialized in M&A valuations for mid-market transactions and got tired of seeing capable analysts make preventable errors due to gaps in their foundational training. Her teaching style is direct—students appreciate the honest feedback even when it stings a bit. She's particularly skilled at explaining why certain valuation approaches fail in specific contexts, which prevents a lot of costly mistakes down the line. Outside of teaching, Freya consults on complex valuation projects and continues to bring current market insights into our curriculum.
